This new collection of poems tells the story of 150 years as a country, recreating historical events through the vivid, concrete, human element of our poets’ responses to them. It is an anthology of poems by various Canadian poets that represent what Canada is to them.

Judy Gaudet has collected poems that tells our story in a unique way: through the personal passions and concerns of artists who offer a range of encounters and attitudes.

The poems represent a wide variety of Canadian experience: Indigenous, immigrant, and people from every part of the country and period of our history providing a solid representation of Canadian diversity. Many significant Canadian poets are among the voices telling Canada’s story.

Judy Gaudet is a Prince Edward Island poet whose books include Conversation with Crows and Her Teeth are Stones.

I loved this book and I loved the poems.  They are full of imagery of our wonderful vast land that we know as the greatest place in the world.

It celebrates 150 years of Canada through poetry.  What a GREAT book!
