Ordinary Amos and Amazing Fish by Eugene Fernandes and Henry Fernandes (127)

I have read quite a few books by these two amazing writers and illustrators. And this picture book for kids didn’t disappoint either.

Amos lives an ordinary life. He has an ordinary chair, an ordinary cat, and an ordinary fireplace to keep him warm.

But the something very extraordinary happens. Amos meets an amazing fish that helps him see that everyone is beautiful and wonderful just as they are.

I love the idea for this book. Many, well perhaps most of us, feel ordinary. We always feel that others are better, smarter, and richer than us. This need not make us feel bad. We are all unique, and we all offer the world a unique flavour and sentiment. That was one of the amazing takeaways of this book.

I recommend this book to readers of all ages and their parents.

Just a GREAT book!
