Quebec by Jamie Hamilton (205)

This book will round off my travel books for this year. What a year it has been indeed!  I learned so much about the provinces in Canada.

This book is about Quebec. Despite the fact that I was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, there was so much that I learned about the province.  This book also mostly focuses about Quebec City–a place I visited about 25 years ago.

Quebec produces more maple syrup than any other province in Canada. Ice Hockey was born in Quebec.

Quebec is like no place in North America. It has the largest land area of the ten provinces. Quebec is the biggest and most populated region in Canada.  Montreal has about three million people making it the second largest city in Canada. Each year, Drummondville, Quebec hosts the World Folklore Festival.

Personally, I believe Quebec has an amazing cultural diversity and it is so friendly. I so miss it and don’t visit often enough. There is always something curtailing my plans.

Here are a few things that I love about Quebec:

  • Ladies clothes are more vibrant stylistically because of its comfort and bold colors.
  • I also love the Botanical Gardens, around where My Mom walked every day in her last years. She worshipped the place!! As I do when I visit.
  • The deli’s are out of this world, and they serve the BEST smoked meat sandwiches.
  • The pizza is the best in the world–yup even better than Chicago and New York! But I know I am biased…LOL.

I will be visiting Montreal and Quebec city very soon. But it will be bitter sweet to go back because I no longer have any family there.
