Canadian Celebrations Series: Pride Festivals by Heather C. Hudak (63)

This another great picture book for kids about an important topic: pride parades.

It is very important for people who are lesbian, gay, queer and trans to have a day when they could be themselves without worrying about all the traditions and customs that surround them in society.

The lesbian and gays are much more accepted than they ever have been. However, there is still a lot of homophobia out there.

The Pride Parade gives people who don’t relate to their gender in some way to relax for a day. It can be so hard to live this way for people, and the isolation would be tremendous.

Pride Day gives people the freedom to be who they are or to determine who they are if they are still struggling with their identity.

Thank you Heather Hudak for such a great book, yet again!
