Exploring the Sky by Day by Terence Dickinson (57)

This book is an equinox guide to weather and the atmosphere weather patterns and how clouds form and so much more.

This book is a friendly guide to weather and the natural wonders of the sky. Terrence Dickinson also wrote another book called Exploring the Night Sky.  It is also an informative guide to the solar system and all it has to offer spectators on earth.

This book is ideal for children. The book offers some fascinating insights into such phenomena as lightning, the 10 types of clouds, storms, solar halos, sun dogs and sunsets.  Before I read this book, I had no idea what sun dogs were.  Ha, I do now.

This book brings to life dozens of photographs and the colour illustrations of John Bianchi who was also the chief illustrator of the previous book, Exploring the Night Sky.  This book also provides an excellent introduction to weather and the atmosphere.  It is a fascinating natural science accessible to everyone.

I can see this book being relevant to elementary school children who want to know more about weather systems and how the weather man can determine our weather. This book is full of information of every kind. How wonderful to have a book like this!

A great book for kids of all ages, and adults too!
