Jasper John Dooley: Star of the Week by Caroline Adderson (170)

I am continuing of my reading of Caroline Adderson’s books. What a treat!  She is such a great writer!

This series of books that I am reading consists of 3 books. This is the first book in the series.

At long last, it’s Jasper John Dooley’s turn to be Star of the Week at school. But somehow events don’t unfold quite as expected.

When his best friend, Ori, tells the class about this new baby sister, no one is interested any more in Jasper’s Show and Tell. And what’s worse? The week just goes downhill from there.

Fortunately, with the help of his parents and friends Jasper John Dooley manages to turn things around. And by the time Friday arrives, he knows once again that he has what it takes to be a star.

Star of the Week is the first book in a series of stories about Jasper John Dooley, a quirky and enthusiastic boy with an offbeat view of the world. Young readers will laugh at Jasper John’s adventures while also identifying completely with his problem sand how creatively he triumphs over them.

This is a wonderful book.  I can’t wait to review the second book in this series.

Rating: 4 stars
