When I Grow Up I Want to be a Writer by Cynthia MacGregor (101)

How many parents would love to hear that when their child grows up that (s)he would want to be a writer? I know I would!

This is a wonderful older book by a Canadian author about that.

Finally, there is a book for the adolescent wordsmith!  And it is speckled with the author’s light-hearted sense of humor.

Writing can be fun! The author’s passion for her craft is infectious, and will have readers sharpening their pencils — and skills — in no time at all.

MacGregor has written a book that will satisfy creative urges in all of us while helping kids to take important steps in mastering the art of writing.

The book is loaded with practical tips and exercises.

The book offers something for every kind of writer, from journalism to poetry, this book covers it all!

But above all, this book introduces kids to writing in many different forms.

Aspiring writers will love this book too!  And I think young adolescents will too!
