Have not been the Same (135)

This was a book that was part of my monthly reading challenge for the Book Mine Set.  Thank you John for setting up this more difficult challenge. It was hard to get my hands on the books. But I am SO glad that I did!

This book is brilliant and wonderful!  Michael Barclay along with Ian A.D Jack and Jason Schneider have put together an amazing book which looks at various Canadian musicians between 1985-1995.

The authors captured many of the rock musicians during this time, and especially some of Halifax Bands such as Sloan, Thrush, Hermit, and so on. Also, the underground was given a very detailed account in the book.

Also, the histories of several bands were given full chapters such as The Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo and Sloan. The punk music in Western Canada was also given a spotlight.

Any Rock fan will love this book!  Thank you John Mutford for encouraging us to read these books!  What a year it has been of reading!  I can’t wait until next year!
