Stratford: Around and About by Ellen Stafford (107)

This is a wonderful book about how Stratford became what it is today. The book is a classic in many ways, published by a small bookstore in Stratford.

I never tire of hearing how Stratford became what it is today.  What a story of luck and success!

This was a small unknown town until Tom Patterson and Tyrone Gutherie started the Festival. Actors came from everywhere and very soon little Stratford became known on the world stage.

The story of Stratford is a success story like no other. I am so proud to live in such a wonderful town with a world-class stage and actors along with many hundreds of thousands of visitors every year from all areas of Canada and the United States! It is truly something to celebrate every year.

I would recommend this book to anyone who hasn’t visited Stratford yet. It is a book that might just inspire you to come and visit this vast and beautiful small town that is beautiful as it is brilliant.
