Our Song: The Story of O Canada (104)

511+gnG25gL[1]This book is part of the Book Mine Challenge for April.  It is a great challenge. It was hard to find any books about the National Anthem. But I did manage to get a couple. I will be reviewing them both.

This book is about a hidden gem in Canadian history. The Canadian anthem was composed in 1880. In 1980, the National Anthem Act was passed. I was regarded as our song in Canada–the song for Canadians and about their great land!

This book is a must-read for every Canadian child, every new resident and citizen, and every person who is born in Canada. The book contains a lot of information about Canada that even I wasn’t aware of, such as on June 24, 1880, O Canada was first played to 500 guests in Quebec City. The people loved it.

This book is also idea for the classroom. It is a good read for kids 5 to 10 years and up, as well as for classroom projects. This book is also good for adults who are trying to learn more about Canada!  And there is a LOT to learn about Canada!  We really area truly a GREAT country!

What a GREAT, all-Canadian Book!  I loved it!

Thank you John Mutford for setting this wonderful Challenge!  You really are a genius!
