This book by Jane Drake and Anne Love is a must read for all activist enthusiasts.  I found the book a real wonderful read, despite the fact that I am not much of an activist at all!

Throughout history, social and political injustice have made their mark on society. Behind the scenes are people who identified problems, exposed issues, and called perpetrators to account.

Lifelong environmental activists, the authors present nine steps to social change in this wonderfully comprehensive guide for young adults. The nine steps are as follows:

  1. I’m fed up
  2. What’s wrong?
  3. Great minds think alike
  4. Good plans, good luck
  5. Baby steps, giant leaps
  6. Butting heads
  7. When the going gets tough, the tough get going
  8. getting heard
  9. Life after change

By taking these steps, we can all learn to be activists. How many times have you been fed up with things and never did anything about it?  Somehow you felt powerless?  This book will help you to become powerful and all in touch with your courage to do more than the minimal in our world.
