Book of Longing by Leonard Cohen (87)

I am enjoying this month’s mini-challenge that was set up by John Mutford!  You are just a gem when it comes to setting up these challenges!  I truly enjoy them john!

This month’s challenge was a bit harder in that our library doesn’t have too many books on poetry by Canadian song writers. But I did find a few Leonard Cohen books.  And what a treat to read them!

This book is a book of Leonard Cohen’s music and lyrics. This book is Cohen’s eagerly anticipated new volume of poems. These poems were never published in book form. They were written in Mt. Baldy and Los Angeles as well as Montreal and Mumbai. They are beautifully designed.

This volume is enhanced by playful and provocative drawings and decorations by the author which interact in exciting and unexpected ways on the page with poetry that is timeless, meditative, and often darkly humorous.

I loved this book, and any Leonard Cohen fan should read it.
