This is a GREAT picture book by a Canadian Author with a timely message. It is just about Remembrance Day here in Canada, and this book will show kids of all ages the meaning of the beautiful red poppy that we all wear in the beginning of November each year.
A poppy is to remember those far from home, crossing troubled lands, and threatening waters, and dangerous skies. Each remembrance Day we honour those who gave so much to serve their country, and those who risk their lives even today to keep peace around the world. In moving words, and illustrations this book calls to mind the rich symbolism of the poppy we wear so proudly on Remembrance Day.
Thank you Heather and Ron for such a GREAT educational picture book for kids of all ages. This book can also be used for school projects about Remembrance Day. The book also has an informational section about Remembrance Day in Canada.
