Ancient Greece (26)

51Ep9K-IhJL._SX314_BO1,204,203,200_[1]This is a short introduction to Ancient Greece. I found the book eye-opening and inspiring. Of course, I always loved Greece. So, it was a small book that I was glad to read in a few hours while I was doing a reading retreat one Sunday a few weeks ago.

This short book tells the story of eleven major Greek cities. Paul Cartledge discusses the most important themes of each city from the documented use of Greek language and the glory of the Classical and Hellenistic periods to the foundation of the Byzantine empire. How interesting and intriguing.

Thank you Cartledge for such a wonderful book!
