The Creative Odyssey of Joni Mitchell (19)

51hQDhatYcL._SX343_BO1,204,203,200_[1]This is another memoir about Joni Mitchell. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting my hands on these books so that I could learn more about this wonderful musician that I grew up on and listened to since I was a teenager and in my early 20’s. She is one of a kind and a musician that I love.

Her life was anything but comfortable and happy all the time. She had a lot of bumps in the road but she has overcome them and soared way above them. A musician’s life is very hard usually–especially at the beginning. But what is unique about Joni Mitchell is that she is a real and honest person, someone who has high ideals for herself and her music. And it really comes through in her music.  Joni’s music speaks to my soul like no other. She is a thoroughly Canadian writer with an amazing career.

No book that I have read to date has delved so deeply into the art, the philosophy, the loves, and the heart breaks that shaped Joni as a woman and an artist. If you want to read only ONE book about Joni Mitchell, I recommend you read this one first.
