In Her Own Words (18)

41PBeKGpo5L._SX258_BO1,204,203,200_[1]This is a book about Joni Mitchell.  It is quite autobiographical in nature and it offers an intimate account of her life and works. Malka Marom is the lady who wrote this book. She was a singer and musician herself. In 1973, she interviewed Joni Mitchell. And what a great interview it was. It is contained in this book.

Malka and Joni have been friends for many decades. And Malka knew Joni before she became famous. So, this book has a lot of gems about both of the musicians.  I just love books about singers like this because you can read about all the details that occurred in their lives and how they grew into the wonderful musicians that they are to all Canadians.

I always loved Joni Mitchell. I still listen to her on and off–especially when I am having a hard day. There is something about the lyrics of her songs that brings me out of my bad space into a space that is full of promise and revelation.

Thank you Joni Mitchell for gracing my life with your wonderful music. And thank you Malka Marom for writing such a great book about a great Canadian Musician.
