Canada: What it is, What it Can be
By Roger Martin and James Milway

We have so much to be proud of as Canadians. Our ancestors have built one of the most prosperous economies in the world. In fact, there are very few countries in the world that have achieved so much economic success as we have. The achievement is not just a result of our current economic turmoil. It is a long-standing success. Canadians offer many economic opportunities for our citizens and for countless immigrants who are trying to establish a new life for themselves and their children. It is so inspiring to see so many immigrants who are trying to build new lives for themselves.

Canadians are also better off that most of the world’s population. Our incomes are much higher than most people in developed countries. In addition, our economy creates better jobs, ones that people could comfortably work at for the most part. We also have a health care and educational system that is envied by most of the people in the world. We should also be proud of our rich cultural diversity. This is a source of our strength in Canada.

Yet, there is so much that we can improve on. In this book, Martin and Milway discuss these possibilities and how we could bring them about. It is an inspiring book that will show the reader how to strengthen management talent, bulk up, become a true trading nation, focus on poverty and not equality. This will make Canada even better.

What a GREAT book by two authors who are scholars in the field.
