Close Range: Wyoming Stories (26)

Close Range: Wyoming Stories
Annie Proulx

Annie shows her fierce love for Wyoming in this great novel that will capture the hearts and minds of most readers.

This collection of stories focus on many themes, such as loneliness, violence, and wrong kinds of love. These stories illustrate the desperation, hard times, and unlikely elation set in a beautiful, breathtaking landscape that can be magnificent. The stories are enlivened by folk tales, flights of fancy, and details of ranch and rural work. Wyoming’s traditional character is of confronting tough problems, overcoming prejudice when possible and persistence in the face of difficulty. The illustrations are also wonderful.

What a great collection of stories. Get ready to sit down with a latte and enjoy these stories. Each of them could be read in one sitting.

I loved the book from start to finish. I learned a lot about Wyoming that I didn’t know before. How interesting!
