This book a comprehensive guide to heart disease. The book is clearly written for laypersons and experts alike. It is a book that discussed topics such as coronary arteries, and what happens to them when they are clogged, newly discovered risk factors such as homocysteine and C-reactive protein, the dangers of hormone replacement therapy, ECG, ultrasound, MRI, and other diagnostic tests, when arrhythmias matter, and how they can be best treated, angioplasty, bypass, and other surgical options and how to live with heart disease.
Heart disease is like any chronic illness–it takes a lot of self-care and self-management. By knowing all the facts that there are to know, the individual can ensure that she is not in danger and will know how to treat various heart conditions.
This is a wonderfully insightful and educational book!
