The Truth About Luck (66)

The Truth about Luck: What I learned on my Road Trip with Grandma
By: Iaian Reid

This is a wonderful book about how a young man decides to accompany his grandmother on a five-day vacation which ends up being a time when they spend together in her apartment in Kingston.

It is a hilarious memoir of those five days. Iaian talks about family connections and how we experience the passage of time. He also talks about what it means to feel lucky.

I felt transported into the world of both the grandmother and the twenty year old grandson. Although generations do separate them, they were able to communicate and open up about their lives. There are so many gems of wisdom between these pages.

The book is so unique yet so simple. How could a vacation in an apartment with a grandmother be so meaningful to both of these individuals? I guess you will have to read the book to find out!

I loved the book from beginning to end. People who love to read about the many perplexing dynamics of family will love this book.
