Creating a Garden: Designs for Every Kind of Garden from Country Settings to Urban Spaces (39)

This is one of Liz Primeau’s most concise book on creating a garden.  It is bold, colorful and inspiring.

In the book, she takes the reader through the 7 steps of setting up a garden. To start a successful garden, Liz believes that you should record the existing conditions that you have in your backyard now, understand the garden you have, think of the garden you would like to have, establish a framework, develop a garden style, strike a balance of color and open spaces, and understand the principles of planting.

In addition, Liz takes us through the various garden styles, such as cottage gardens, formal gardens, Japanese gardens, Mediterranean gardens, and small urban gardens.

Lastly, Liz discusses the principles of color in a garden. If only I could master these, I would really have a beautiful garden!

What a beautiful and worthwhile book!
