Book Review: If You’re Not From the Prairie, by David Bouchard (70)

This wonderful picture book is all about the Prairies!  Kids will learn all of the diverse things about it!  So, get ready for a thrilling ride!

The Prairies are beautiful.  The people who live there are very passionate about their land, and they thoroughly enjoy it, and this author captures that perfectly.

The book is a visual and poetic journey back to those times, and the feelings of the Prairies. David reminds us of the power of the wind in the Prairies, the sweep of the sky, the adventures in the cold. he also takes us through the excitement of playing hockey on the river, lying under the big sky in a field of swaying grass, wading in a spring pond.

The Prairies really are unique and the people who live there have a unique lifestyle.  After reading this book, I think I will visit the Prairies one day soon!

I loved the book from beginning to end. It is one of the best Canadian picture books that I have read so far this year!
