Nothing Fell Today But Rain (60)

Evan Jones is a wonderful Canadian Poet! Evan draws on geography and a sense of place as his poetic resources. Evan’s themes range from longing and love, and joy and regret. These themes are woven with cool optimism and warm erotic overtones. He draws sharp lines in his poems of rivers and highways, bedrooms and telephones, city streets and lake mosquitoes. Yet, he puts an unexpected tone to all of these very familiar scenes.

I loved his book of poems from start to finish, and will keep re-reading them as time goes on.
