Another November Book Review for the Canadian Book Review Challenge(28)

This is a cute picture book inspired by a familiar nursery rhyme called “The House that Jack Built”. It follows the course of a very unusual shoe as it travels through the world and meets an assortment of strange creatures. How would you like to see a kitten that drove around in Uncle Wally’s old brown shoes?

This story is cumulative and it is sure to enthrall all young readers, as will the colorful, vivid and humorous illustrations that are part of the book too. Children will get entranced and inspired to find the whimsical objects and hidden meanings which are layered throughout the text and artwork.

My niece loved the book from beginning to end. She couldn’t put it down. Thank you Wallace for such a great picture book!
