How To Make a Garden:
The 7 Essential Steps For the Canadian Gardener
Marjorie Harris

Marjorie Harris is a leading garden expert in Canada. She takes the reader through the seven steps to create the garden of your dreams, regardless of the size of your backyard. You could have the smallest urban plot of land, and still create the garden of your dreams by following a few easy steps.

This is a book for the avid gardener as well as the novice. It will show you step by step how to start your very first garden or improve on your existing garden. To follow the seven steps of gardening is easy and commonsensical. You must survey your site, know your soil, set a garden style, create a garden map, select the proper plants for your plot of land, plant them properly, and fertilize your soil, practising proper garden care.

Marjorie devotes one chapter to each of the 7 steps. It is the most commonsensical exploration of how to create a garden that I have come across to date. She has motivated me to start my very own garden on a plot of land that has never had any garden for decades. When I first started irrigating the soil, it looked like a dead zone. But things are really looking up now.

If you want to start your own garden, this book is for you! And it is the right time of year for such a book too!
