The Canadian Book Challenge

What do you do to help your Body?
By: Jewel Kats
Illustrated by: Richa Kinra

This is another wonderful book by Jewel Katz about all the different kinds of assistive devices that are available to people with various physical disabilities. Assistive devices help people out who have disabilities. People with disabilities come from many different cultures and backgrounds. And assistive devices can be seen in positive ways. Disabled individuals can do a lot of things with a lot more ease because they have assistive devices to make their lives easier.

This is a greatly inspiring and informative book from an author in Ontario, Canada. She knows first-hand how it is to live with a physical disability and how assistive devices can really transform a disabled individual’s life. Her prose is honest, and the illustrations are vivid and uplifting. I commend Jewel Kats for writing such a wonderful and informative book for kids of all ages.
