Autumn Rounds is a great novel that is set in Quebec City. The reader will be transported to the life of a quiet man who travels with a band in a bookmobile across Quebec to the Gaspe.
The band consists of a group of musicians, singers, and acrobats. Among them is a strangely familiar woman whom the man feels very attracted to. After the tour, the woman leaves the band and returns to the city with the man.
This is a novel about love hat finds the man later in life. The book is written in poetic tones and the reader will fall in love with the north shore of the St. Lawrence River from the author’s vivid descriptions of the wonderful place.
The author also shows the joys of books and how reading is such a pleasurable activity that can bring people together from many different walks of life. One can imagine how wonderful it would be to sleep, eat, and live along with one’s books in a bookmobile. What an interesting and transporting novel!
